Police are continuing their investigation after a 60-year-old Sunshine shopkeeper died following an alleged assault outside his grocery store.

It is alleged the long-time business owner confronted a group of teenagers following the theft of items from his store. During the altercation, the man sustained serious head injuries and was transported to hospital, where he later died. Police have charged several teenagers in connection with the incident and investigations remain ongoing. The incident has prompted renewed community concern regarding violence against small business owners.
