Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 26-year-old man following an alleged violent affray on a Frankston line train near Parliament Railway Station.
Emergency services were called shortly after midnight following reports of an altercation onboard the train. Police located a 20-year-old man on the platform at Parliament Railway Station suffering life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for urgent medical care.
Police arrested a 26-year-old Cranbourne West man nearby a short time later. He has since been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and affray and has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court. Detectives continue to investigate and are appealing for passengers or witnesses who were on the train or platform to come forward with information or footage.
