Police have charged a 50-year-old St Kilda man following a series of alleged violent incidents in the suburb on 19 July.
Police allege the man followed a woman through Alma Park at approximately 10.55am before making threats towards her. A short time later, he allegedly assaulted several people at a café on Alma Road before entering a nearby service station armed with a piece of broken glass. Security staff restrained the man until police arrived and he was subsequently taken to hospital under police guard. The man has since been charged with numerous offences, including making threats to kill, attempted sexual assault, unlawful assault, possessing a dangerous article and behaving in a riotous manner. He has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
