woman shoved to ground during clayton robbery.
A woman was allegedly shoved to the ground and robbed while walking along the Princes Highway in Clayton during a series of incidents across Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs.
According to Victoria Police, the woman was walking along the Princes Highway when offenders allegedly approached her, pushed her to the ground and stole her bag. The incident was one of several robberies involving predominantly lone women over a five-day period.
Being pushed to the ground and having personal belongings taken can be both physically and emotionally distressing. Even where injuries are not immediately apparent, victims may later experience anxiety, fear or difficulty feeling comfortable walking alone or returning to the location.
The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) is intended to assist eligible victims of violent crime with some of the costs that can arise from their experience. Depending on the individual circumstances, this may include counselling costs, medical expenses, safety-related costs, loss of earnings and other recovery-related assistance. If you have experienced a robbery or assault, seeking information about the FAS may help you understand the options available to you.
