A 68-year-old man has been seriously injured in an alleged unprovoked stabbing near Ginifer Railway Station in St Albans.
Police allege the man was walking near the intersection of Mulhall Drive and St Albans Road at approximately 3.20am on 3 September 2026 when he was approached from behind and stabbed. He sustained a laceration to his lower back and a puncture wound to his shoulder. The man was able to contact a family member, who called police. Ambulance paramedics treated him before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police said there appeared to have been no exchange of words or demands before the attack, and the motivation remains unclear.
