massage parlour assaults in melbourne cbd.

Melbourne East police have charged a 32-year-old man following the alleged assault of two women at separate massage businesses in Melbourne's CBD.

Police allege the incidents occurred on Bourke Street on 9 July, with the same man entering two businesses and assaulting female employees. The alleged attacks only came to police attention after CCTV footage circulated on social media, prompting an investigation that resulted in the man's arrest and multiple assault charges.

Violent workplace incidents can have lasting physical and psychological impacts on victims of crime, particularly where individuals are targeted while simply carrying out their employment.

In Victoria, eligible victims affected by violent offending may be able to apply for assistance through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). The scheme may provide financial assistance for counselling, medical treatment and other recovery-related expenses.

If you have been affected by a violent crime, sending an enquiry can help you better understand the support available and whether you may be eligible to make an application.
