Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are appealing for witnesses following an alleged attempted sexual assault in Kooyong.
Police allege a 67-year-old woman from Toorak and a 39-year-old woman from Glen Iris were walking eight dogs along Gardiners Creek near a reserve off Glenferrie Road at approximately 11.30am on 14 July when an unknown man emerged from nearby bushes. Investigators allege the man grabbed one of the women, who was able to push him away, before attempting to pull the second woman towards him. She also managed to break free.
The women were not physically injured, and the dogs they were walking chased the alleged offender into a nearby tunnel beneath the Monash Freeway, reportedly tearing a piece of his clothing as he fled. Police continue to investigate and are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the incident.
