Police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was injured during an alleged stabbing in Richmond.

Victims of serious violence can be left dealing with physical injuries, medical treatment costs and significant psychological distress. For victims of violent crime, the impact may continue long after the immediate incident. Medical appointments, counselling sessions and other recovery-related expenses can create additional financial pressures at an already difficult time.
In Victoria, eligible victims of violent crime may be able to apply for financial assistance through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). Depending on the circumstances, financial assistance may be available for treatment and recovery costs as well as safety-related needs.
Making an enquiry can help a victim understand whether they may be eligible for financial assistance and what support may be available to them.
