lara construction site machete assault.

Two construction workers have suffered serious injuries following a violent attack at a building site in Lara, near Geelong. Police allege a group of men armed with weapons assaulted the workers, causing significant injuries to their limbs and upper bodies. Both victims required hospital treatment, with one sustaining potentially life-altering injuries.

Such incidents highlight the risks associated with workplace violence and the long-term impact these events can have on victims’ physical and emotional wellbeing. In Victoria, victims of crime may be eligible to apply for financial assistance through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS).

The scheme can support recovery through counselling, medical care and other related expenses.

Submitting an enquiry can help victims understand the support available and the steps involved in making an application.
