eaton mall machete attack (oakleigh).

A violent incident unfolded at Eaton Mall in Oakleigh when a masked group armed with machetes confronted a group of teenagers in a targeted attack. Police report the incident occurred in the evening, with an 18-year-old man sustaining injuries requiring hospital treatment, while another teen was also assaulted.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as the group fled the area, with police continuing to investigate and appealing for information. Incidents involving weapons in public places can be deeply distressing for victims, their families and those who witness the event.

In Victoria, victims of crime who suffer injury or trauma as a result of violent offences may be eligible to apply for financial support through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). This support can assist with counselling, medical expenses and other recovery-related costs.

If you have been affected by a violent incident, sending an enquiry can help clarify your eligibility and guide you through the application process.
