A 13-year-old boy has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged attempted sexual assault in Kooyong involving two women walking their dogs near Gardiners Creek.
The incident occurred on 14 July 2026 when a 67-year-old Toorak woman and a 39-year-old Glen Iris woman were walking near a reserve off Glenferrie Road. Police allege an unknown male emerged from bushes and approached the women. He allegedly put his arms around one of the women before she pushed him away, and then allegedly attempted to pull the second woman towards him. The women were able to resist, with their dogs subsequently chasing the alleged offender away. Following a five-week investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a Boroondara residence on 20 August and arrested a 13-year-old boy. He was interviewed and released pending further investigation, including enquiries into whether he may be connected with other reported incidents.
