berwick armed robbery.

Detectives are investigating a violent armed robbery at a jewellery store in Berwick, where masked offenders allegedly entered the business armed with hammers and bats, assaulting a staff member and smashing display cabinets. Jewellery and valuables were stolen before the offenders fled in a waiting vehicle. The shopkeeper was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

This type of offending can have a significant impact on both employees and witnesses, particularly where violence or threats are used during the commission of the crime.

The emotional and psychological effects of armed robbery can be long-lasting, even where physical injuries are minor. In Victoria, the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) may assist with counselling, medical costs, and recovery-related support following violent crime.

Submitting an enquiry can help victims understand the support available and the steps involved in making an application.
