stabbing in major shopping centre in melbourne’s west.
Alliance Taskforce detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy following an alleged stabbing outside a shopping centre in Maribyrnong. Police allege a group of teenagers became involved in a fight outside a cinema on Rosamond Road, during which a 16-year-old boy sustained stab wounds and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other teenagers received minor injuries. A knife was allegedly recovered at the scene.
Violence involving young people in public places continues to be a significant concern across Melbourne. Incidents occurring in busy community spaces can affect not only those directly involved, but also witnesses, families and members of the public who are exposed to the event.
In Victoria, victims of crime who suffer physical injury or psychological harm as a result of violent offending may be eligible to apply for support through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS).
An enquiry can help affected individuals understand what support may be available and how the application process works.
