A violent stabbing in Melbourne’s CBD has left a man seriously injured and triggered a major police response. The incident occurred on Sunday, 27 April 2025, near a tram stop on Swanston Street, when the victim was allegedly attacked with a knife.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was transported to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and appealing for witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
