melbourne hospitality violence escalates.

Violence linked to Melbourne’s hospitality industry continues to escalate, with reports of arson attacks, threats and organised criminal activity affecting venues across the city. Police allege several incidents are connected to wider organised crime investigations currently underway.

Business owners, hospitality workers and surrounding communities have reported ongoing fear and disruption as authorities increase patrols and investigative activity throughout entertainment precincts.

Even where no physical injury occurs, exposure to violent criminal behaviour can significantly affect victims of crime, particularly those repeatedly exposed to threats or targeted incidents in their workplace.

The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) in Victoria may assist eligible individuals affected by violent crime with counselling, medical treatment and other recovery-related support.

Sending an enquiry can help clarify eligibility and what assistance may be available following exposure to violent offending.
