A 43-year-old man was seriously injured in a machete attack at Elite Car Wash on Mount Alexander Road, Essendon, Melbourne, on Thursday, 4 December 2025. The attacker, reportedly wearing a balaclava, approached the victim and slashed him multiple times. Emergency services took the man to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Victoria Police are treating the incident as a targeted attack and are appealing for witnesses or CCTV footage from nearby businesses.
