herne hill home invasion investigation.

Police are investigating a violent home invasion in Herne Hill after a masked offender allegedly forced entry into a residential property on McCurdy Road earlier this week. Residents reported hearing smashing glass before the offender allegedly entered the home, causing significant fear and distress for those inside.

The occupants, who were home at the time of the incident, told media they feared they may have been deliberately targeted. Police investigations remain ongoing and authorities are appealing for information from the public.

Home invasions can leave lasting emotional impacts on victims of crime, particularly where offenders forcibly enter private residences and personal safety is threatened.

In Victoria, individuals affected by violent offending may be eligible to apply for support through the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). The scheme may assist with counselling, psychological treatment, and other recovery-related expenses.

Sending an enquiry can help clarify what support may be available and the process for making an application.
