elderly woman targeted in aggravated burglary.

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in Port Melbourne in the early hours of 18 March. Police believe an unknown male offender entered a property on Heath Street at approximately 3.15am. The 77-year-old female resident, who is partially deaf, was asleep in a bedroom when the offender allegedly entered the room and stood over her holding a knife.

The victim reportedly shouted at the man and chased him from the home toward Raglan Street. During the incident, the offender allegedly stole several items including jewellery and electronic devices before leaving the scene. The woman then ran to a neighbouring property for assistance, and police were contacted shortly afterwards.
