armed home invasion melbourne's south-east.

In a violent incident in Melbourne’s south-east, a couple reported being held at gunpoint during a home invasion, describing the terrifying experience of having “two guns in my face” as intruders targeted their property. The emotional and psychological consequences of such encounters can be long-lasting. Victims of violent crimes may find themselves dealing not only with trauma but also with financial pressures such as medical care, counselling needs and time away from work.

The Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) in Victoria exists to support victims of offences such as armed home invasions. Eligible applicants may receive financial assistance for counselling, treatment costs and loss of income to help alleviate the burden associated with recovery and support their ongoing wellbeing.

If you have experienced this or a similar attack, making an enquiry can help clarify your entitlements and next steps under the Scheme.
