There are no costs to a victim of crime who meets the eligibility for services. A person who has been a victim of a crime in Victoria within the past two years and has suffered either a physical injury and/or a psychological injury and has reported the incident to the police may be eligible for crimes compensation.
Victims of Crime Counseling and Compensation Services always establishes this eligibility first in order to ensure that there are no costs to crime victims. A victim of crime has suffered enough and should not be expected to endure any further costs, suffering or financial hardship.
